Elvis has made a comeback.
WHAT GUN RESTRICTIONS SHOULD THERE BE, IF ANY?"Do you mean to say EVERYBODY can carry a gun, ANY gun , ANY time, ANY where, according to the Second Amendment?" What SHOULD we do in terms of gun control?
That's the question, STRAIGHT UP.
What's the answer?
And for God's sake, let's hear a STRAIGHT answer for a change.

Centennial, Colorado (CNN) -- It started just before 12:33 p.m. on Friday, moments after the high school senior and debate club member parked his car in the student lot at Arapahoe High School in suburban Denver, then -- wearing a bandolier containing shotgun shells and carrying a pump-action shotgun, a machete and a backpack holding three Molotov cocktails -- walked through a door adjacent to the library. "He took no effort to conceal the fact that he was armed," said Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson. In less than 80 seconds, Karl Pierson "fired one random shot down a hallway," then entered an area where 17-year-old Claire Esther Davis was seated with a friend, "and shot the female victim point-blank" in the head. "There was no time for the victim to run from the shooter," Robinson told reporters on Saturday. Pierson then fired another round down a hallway, then entered the library, where he fired again and ignited one of the Molotov cocktails, according to Robinson. That ignited at least three bookshelves, causing smoke to pour into the library. He then fired a fifth round and ran to the library's back corner, "and there took his own life." By 12:35 p.m., it was all over. www.cnn.com/2013/12/14/us/colorado-school-shooting/index.html?hpt=hp_c2

And for God's sake, let's hear a STRAIGHT answer for a change. You are looking for a simple answer when the fact is, there is no simple answer other than to disarm most Americans. As the latest Colorado incident has proven, background checks are a of limited use if not wholly pointless in many cases. What I don't understand though, is why are you demanding answers while offering none of your own. Seems you have a chip on your shoulder or a burr under your saddle or something.

I am not the one who insists on a literal interpretation of the Second Amendment, i.e., no infringement on gun ownership. There has almost always been some limitation on gun ownership, especially when it comes to where and when you can carry a gun.
I know for a fact that just because something is legal doesn't mean that it's use is completely and totally unrestricted. So I ask again, and will keep on asking: Should there be limitations or restrictions on where and when you can carry a gun? If not, then are you arguing that we should be able to carry a gun wherever and whenever we please, with no limitation whatsoever? And if there should be limitations , what should they be? By the way, I did something similar for healthcare. I don't CARE if Obamacare is repealed. What I DO care about is a SOLUTION . If you releal Obamacare, well and good. Let's see you REPLACE it with something that DEALS with our healthcare system's problems. Our pre-Obamacare system did NOT address the problem, so I asked for those who would repeal Obamacare to come up with one. They have not. And simply saying the problem is too complicated to deal with is NOT the answer. Have you GOT one?

The problem with the rhetoric around gun control is that Reasonable is not reasonable, it is usually knee jerk in that there are already plenty of laws and limitations covering possession and usage of firearms.
The real issue is changes in society that have led to more and more of these kinds of incidents.
As for health care, as long as American health care and insurance are for profit industries things will not be much different. And, Justice Roberts decision that the state must be allowed to levy taxes aimed at specific programs should not authorize insurance companies to tax the people. If the government wants to own the damned thing then they should own it. What they are trying to do now is just stupid.

And for God's sake, let's hear a STRAIGHT answer for a change. As I've said, we already HAVE gun control. How much more do YOU want? You "already" have gun control? So your answer is that we have exactly the right amount? See, I asked you a question. I didn't say we needed more, I didn't say we needed less. A 30-day waiting period would be nice, but it's not necessary. But I am beginning to realize that answering a direct question is something you do not do.

"I didn't say we needed more, I didn't say we needed less."
Nonsense. Obviously, you are asking for more since you keep going on about "What SHOULD we do about gun control.
Here's a happy thought... Instead of going on a rant about "wanting solutions," why not propose some?

Instead of going on a rant about "wanting solutions," why not propose some? Because I'm not the one who proudly holds up the Second Amendment while I watch our children being slaughtered. You want the right to keep and bear arms not to be infringed upon in any way, shape, or form?
YOU COME UP WITH A SOLUTION.

The children aren't really being slaughtered in schools and other supposed public shooting galleries. Where they are being murdered on large scale is at home as a result of abuse and neglect. Around 4.5 children per day every day of the year, over 1600 per. That's a Newtown and a Columbine every week so why don't we limit peoples rights to have children until they pass a background check and get a license and every other damned thing. Probably because the vast majority of parents don't abuse and kill their children any more than the vast majority of gun owners don't shoot up schools.

"YOU COME UP WITH A SOLUTION."
I'm not the one howling for a solution.
I'm fine with the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
Give me a choice and I'll take liberty, although it IS a two-edged sword and always has been.

I'm not the one howling for a solution.
In this case, I am "howling" for a better system of background checks.
I'm fine with the Constitution and Bill of Rights. So am I, as long as they are not misinterpreted for the benefit of special interest groups.
Give me a choice and I'll take liberty, although it IS a two-edged sword and always has been.
Yes. It is, and the decisions will always continue to haunt us.

"In this case, I am "howling" for a better system of background checks.'
What would a "better background check" have revealed?
"Give me a choice and I'll take liberty, although it IS a two-edged sword and always has been.
Yes. It is, and the decisions will always continue to haunt us."
Agreed.
