"I simply want a discussion about the possibility of women in the infantry based upon the REAL standards. That seems to be too much to ask of you."
Then start by listing all the ways that adding women to an infantry platoon enhances combat effectiveness.
Otherwise go chill with a nice tall glass of STFU.

Then start by listing all the ways that adding women to an infantry platoon enhances combat effectiveness. I am not going to do a fucking thing on command. I did twenty years of that more than twenty years ago. I asked for a discussion, and quite frankly don't know who the fuck you think you are dictating terms. Otherwise go chill with a nice tall glass of STFU. You got the pitcher.
You pour.

If women bring nothing to the equation that enhances combat effectiveness, there's no reason for them to be there.
If something works, don't fix it.
Game over.
Thank you for playing.

If women can meet or exceed the ORIGINAL STANDARDS set for the Army and Marine Corps, which WERE created for the purpose of combat effectiveness, then there is no reason why they cannot serve in the infantry if they want to, and there's not a thing you can do or say to keep qualified American citizens from serving where they want to serve.
If they can't meet the ORIGINAL STANDARDS, the issue is closed. "If women in the United States want to be in the infantry, and they are qualified to be in the infantry, why SHOULDN'T they be in the infantry? Let them qualify under the ORIGINAL STANDARDS. And if they can't, that's the end of it. Simple as that." By the way, HERE IS WHAT I SAID ORIGINALLY, WORD FOR WORD: "If women can do the job, in the military or on a police force, you need to give them the opportunity. If they can't do the job, the opportunity was provided, and we will be moving on." Did you read THAT?I said THAT JANUARY 22, at 8:14, am WITH MY THIRD POST ON THIS THREAD, and it's STILL TRUE.
ORIGINAL STANDARDS. Those standards were established for the purpose of COMBAT EFFECTIVENESS.
Referring to the Israelis:
"Clause 16A of the military service law requires that female combat soldiers serve 3 years of mandatory service, and continue in reserves service up to age 38, even if they become mothers. These are essentially identical to the terms of service for male combat soldiers.[1] Each year, 1,500 female combat soldiers are drafted into the IDF.[4] Women currently make up 3% of the IDF's combat soldiers.[6]
In 2014, the IDF appointed Major Oshrat Bacher as Israel’s first female combat battalion commander.[18] A combat option for women is the Caracal Battalion, which is a highly operational force that is made up of 70 percent female soldiers.[3] The unit undergoes training like any combat infantry.[4] The IDF commando K9 unit, Oketz, also drafts females as elite combat soldiers."[6]
I've said over and over again that female combat soldiers in the infantry would be required to meet the ORIGINAL STANDARDS. That, and the fact that the Israelis have experience with the full integration of female combat troops, is precisely why I used their experience as a guideline.

No, no, no.
This conversation is over and YOU are not getting it.
If women bring nothing to the equation that enhances combat effectiveness, there's NO reason for them to be there.
Period.
The End.

Not hardly.
The game's not over. It's not the end.
The game continues.
I DO get it, and could not care less about quotations from conservative "Scripture".
A decision will be made.
It won't be made by me, or you, or the American Spectator.
Right now, it's being debated. I told you my opinion. it doesn't agree with you, or those whom the American Spectator attacks and calls "liberal idiots" , and accuses of "intolerald lies".
It will be made some time in the future. You and I will abide by it.
Until then...

Pretty damned pathetic when someone who wore the uniform for over twenty years is willing to sacrifice the combat effectiveness of the finest infantry in the world on the altar of political correctness.
