Four dead in Ft. Hood Shooting

FORT HOOD (CBSDFW.COM) - Four people are confirmed dead and at least 14 people are injured following a shooting at the Fort Hood army post Wednesday evening, according to the House Homeland Security Chair and U.S. Representative from Texas Michael McCaul. CBS News confirms the shooter is among the dead and was killed by a self-inflicted wound. The shooter has been identified as a soldier CBS’s David Martin reports the shooter was a soldier. He has been identified at 34-year-old Ivan Lopez. The shooting reportedly started as the result of a dispute between soldiers.

The local FOX affiliate is reporting the same. Homeland Security is wasting no time in stating "without any preliminary terrorism link" and broadcasting the name of the shooter.

How much time did they invest in an investigation? It took 48 hours before NCIS allowed the name of the victim and shooter to be known after the USS Mahan shooting and to date they've said nothing about motive, only the canned "no terror link" response.
