I have been in discussion with Daniel of Deep Sea Detectives and the special on the Battle of Ormoc Bay will "probably be aired next spring." They were at my aunt's last Thursday and Friday interviewing her. He invited me to come to St. Louis but I had a doctor's appointment. My aunt lived with my grandparents while Uncle June was in the War. She offered photos of the four Guilford boys who were in the war and told stories of when mom's cousin was killed on Iwo while her sister's fiancee (uncle Del) was also on Iwo. Uncle June was killed the December before the Iwo. Grandma told me several times while I lived with her of those terrible years when her four sons and son-in-law were in the war. She said that four months went without ever receiving word and then she suddenly knew that June had been killed. I love to listen to those stories. There was a special on the Discovery Military Channel last week entitled the "Boy of H Company" about the 28th Marine 5th Marine Division H Company, that was the company of my favorite uncle. It was riveting. Uncle Del willed me his 5th Marine Commemorative book. My aunt said that she has willed me many of his other war mementos. Sorry for rambling guys I just had to share.

I appreciate your sharing of your story. I'll be looking for the Deep Sea Detectives special when it comes out. The stories these guys tell facinate the hell out of me. The 'can in the photo, is she the COOPER?

Thought so. Man, that "dazzle" pattern really breaks up her lines. I've always liked the FLETCHERs with their sleek hull and heavy armament, fast ships built to go in harm's way.
