Hey Husky,

I've been staying clear of THC mostly for the same reasons as well. It seems that the "In The News" section will always be a shouting match that does little more than boil my blood and gives little satifaction.

I'll still frequent it for the Sports history, Wars, and Quick Poll side, but for the other crap I think I'll just lurk with a occasional post here and there

Well Doug, you can stay here. But I can certainly understand you wanting to avoid those assholes over there at THC.

Recently THC has been much more enjoyable for me because I simply avoid the radicals. I used to write long posts to people like Gwyn and Bobbie until I realized that there was simply no point.

Now I just search out people who I can have a real debate with and it makes it much more enjoyable. Believe it or not, people like TThomasPgh, Buzzramjet and Damn_Yankee are all capable of civil debate. You just have to extend them the same civility that you expect in return. You have to take the initiative because no one else on that board is going to. If you treat others like an asshole, they will do the same to you.

There are a few people there who I actually enjoy posting to and can have real discussions with. If they left, I wouldn't go there anymore. There would be really no point if I'm not learning anything.

I'm not trying to change anyone's mind at THC - that is nearly impossible. But I have learned a whole lot in my six years of posting there.
