Err America is starting the first of it's beg-a-thons, just like the other commercially non-viable comlib enterprise, National Pubic Radio.

I wonder when Err America will start demanding your tax dollars?

Dear Air America Radio Listener,

When we launched the Air America Radio network one year ago, the country was being talked to death by conservative zealots like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, and others. Right Wing radio saturated every media market and every community – a dominance of the airwaves that has been a huge part of what allowed the Right Wing to:

Air America Radio currently offers 15 shows and runs 24 hours a day of entertaining – at times irreverent – but always enlightening programming.

No...no...no!

"Dittoheads" did not give Limbaugh money to help him get to the top. They patronized his sponsors, making money for the sponsors who paid for airtime on his show, like turning a small regional softdrink maker (Snapple) into a household word. He became the biggest asset in radio history before he ever collected money directly from listeners by selling premium services on the internet, and he never asked for donations up front with the promise of undisclosed future discounts on dubious, unspecified product sales. He did it the old fashioned way...by attracting an holding an audience.

A quick math check reveals that Err Amerika has gained roughly one station a month since its unveiling. Furthermore, it was launched with a sizeable, and highly questionable, loan from a New York boys and girls club --a "loan" which was never acknowledged until revealed by an audit, and only then did they make arrangements to pay the money back, in small installments that just began some 18 months after the money was received.

In other words, this failing venture (financed in part by illegally diverted tax money and tax deducted private donations to a non-profit organization) was too risky a gamble for anyone with the conviction to risk much of their own money.
