Well, like it or not, we do not have the resources to be both the strongest military power in the world and the strongest "soft power" in the world, e.g. humanitarian aid, peacekeeping missions, etc.
With our military already deployed in numerous on-going operations, could you imagine having to take over Europe's peacekeeping missions? I couldn't.
You are rejecting our biggest ally in the fight to spread democracy simply because you do not want to have to rely on someone else. I don't know why....
