volunteers taken the story of how deadly your business is away from those who should care? The American people.I mean that the Left leaning media seems more intent on showing American excesses with violence rather than the plight of the border agents. Are you GS employees? If so, you and your family are given little more support than Federal Marshals. Where are the stories about the agents who suffer PTSD and loose families because of the stress?
Yes, we're GS level. We have peer support and a employee assistance program, but overall, it is like all law enforcement; there is not much to lean on. I know that law enforcement is not like being a soldier in battle or anything as far as the carnage and bloodshed (unless you're DC, NY, LA, Baltimore, Atlanta or some other big department) that you witness, but what seems to make LE work bad is that you see the worst in people on a daily basis and tend to loss faith in people; coupled with being constantly lied to, you wonder if there is good in people at all. You become extremely cynical, wary and narsicisstic.
I stand and salute you and your brothers. A close friend's father worked your sector 40 years ago but retired from the Glacier National Park region up north 25 years ago. Mr. Drinkwine was shot in a gun battle someplace in Arizona and then again along the Canadian border years later. Arbor is that friend with the USACHPPM that I have spoken of several times on THC. Arbor is the one who kept telling me that WMD components were being discovered and one of environmental chemists who identified the Sarin dump site in Baghdad. He is a chemist working with the water treatment project in Baghdad and just signed on for another 18 months.
Well, thanks, Tittus. Very much appreciated. You won't to know bad...discovering these things in Iraq is one thing...I know how insecure our border is and how easy it is to transport a suitcase nuke, chemweap, bioweap or dirty bomb, now that is scary. Hell, we seized over 2,000 lbs of dope at my station alone last month and that was probably only a 1/4 of what was pushed through. You think it was only dope coming in?
It seems to me that the American press is preoccupied with out southern border, are there equally as dangerous sectors along the Canadian border?
There is not as much gunplay or gang type activity up there and sadly, the northern border is more wide open and rugged than the southern border, which is hard to believe, but true. That is the true wild area because no oneis really sure what is happening there.
Thanks for asking Tittus. If you have anymore questions, fire away, I'm happy to let you know what is going on down here with this craziness.
