Buying a foreign car doesn't make you unamerican...
But I wouldn't buy one myself.

Ironically the foreign cars are built in the US and the US cars are built in Mexico!

Actually my wife has an Accord EX. She had a loaded '95 Gran Prix she traded for it. The Pontiac's trade value was LESS then the value of my '93 Civic EX that cost half as much new! Tells you what the value of a GM is.
Actually I really don't care if some one approves of what car I drive because you're right about where they're made. Americans are building them which is fine by me.

OK first off you need to accept the fact that American cars suck.
Every American car that I have ever experienced is a piece of crap. Unless you want to get a Corvette or something high-end like that, ALWAYS go foreign when it comes to vehicles.
I am getting a Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle and I won't think twice about it. One of my ultimate goals is to get a BMW 3 Series. I have no patience for American cars because they all suck.

Let me fill you all in on something. Before getting activated for my extended South Asian Tour I was a claims adjuster for an extended warranty company. Sat in front of a PC taking calls from dealerships and shops all day. I got more calls, by far, for (in order) GM's, Fords, BM-trouble-U's, Chrysler/Mercedes then all the others combined. What cars hardly ever had problems you may ask? Again in order, Toyota/Subaru, Honda, Nissan. And of those I can count on one hand the number of major (engines, Trannies etc.) components that failed in them.
You couldn't give me a GM, can you say "Designed Obsolescence"? They have more parts that seem to wear out in about 40K miles then all the others...combined.

Dude please....this Ninja is no toy. img.photobucket.com/albums/v620/FightingFalcon/ZX-6R.jpgI was in Florida this past week and I saw someone with that exact bike - same color and everything. I was like wow......I can't wait to get mine. I don't know what California's bike laws are (at least I think you live in Cali) but I highly suggest taking a basic riding course first. I took mine through the Motorcycle Safety Foundation and it was really good. It's required in NJ but I'm glad I took it anyway. Just getting on a bike and teaching yourself how to ride is quite possibly the dumbest idea ever. Just a heads up....

No chance in hell I'm teaching myself how to ride a bike! Damn right I'll be taking a course!
I dunno, seems like a plastic toy. I also don't like that jocky style sitting position, when I ride I want to be leaning back

No way - it's all about the lean forward. Looks so much cooler than just sitting on the bike....
Glad to see you're taking a course. Too many people make stupid mistakes and get seriously hurt or die because of them.

Always had Volvos until they changed the body style to look like a Caprice (excpet for the SUV's when they came out).
We just bought a Lincoln Aviator (3 German Shepherds) but I'd like to get either a Lexus or a Chrysler 300 too.
