Y'all be keffel now, heah? Always brother... ...well ok. nearly almost always. I know, I know...I too am still prone...but my actions are weighed, a risk analysis is computed. I count on my years correct of instantaneous risk (or gut feeling) analysis in the air and riding that has proved...but, then sometimes after the fact I confess to myself; "well that wasn't the safest thing to do". ...But it was a hell of a rush.

Apparently we got pulled over for my license plate. As Husky knows, my plate is stuck under the bike and b/c I don't have a rear hugger, the underside of my bike gets really dirty. So not only was the license plate not really visible from the road, but it was also really dirty. Cop pulls us over, asks for L/R (which Husky cant find lol) and tells me about my plate. I knew I was taking a chance with that plate but I hate the fender. So he asked me if the plate had a tail light and I said "Yes, Sir" and showed him. I "forgot" to show him how I didn't plug the light in tho He asked me if I was in the military, said "yes, sir" and he told us to have fun Kinda like when you passed that R6 in a corner? I'll read over that article a little later. I definitely suffer from entering my turns too early. I'm typically way over on the edge of the road and have to re-pick my line in the curve, which is never good.

Yes exactly like that ;D When you say "way over the edge of the road" do you mean running wide on the exit? Another tale-tale sign is having to double apex a constant radius corner.

Not running wide....the exact opposite. I'm too close to the inside edge (towards the side that I'm leaning) and I have to keep adjusting myself so that I get closer to the middle. Turning later might help me with this but I won't have much time to practice since its gonna be 50 for quite some time...

Thought (one or the other) may be what you meant, but wanted to be clear, and that's exactly what I mean about having to 'double apex'. A very tell-tell sign of early entries. I get caught as well...especially if I'm unfamiliar with the corner and it's difficult to determine the actual physical characteristics of the corner. I suppose I'm thinking it's better to be on the inside (for safety) rather than running on the outside and wishing I was closer to the inside. But it sometimes pisses me off that even though I attempted to pick the correct starting point, line and proposed apex...that I fouled it up. Of course I rationalize, it is the street, I put caution and (mine and others) safety first, as well as repairs for my 11K bike and gear...which of course is all true...but But, I do try and continually test myself...so even after I may have screwed up the first plan and the corner turns out to be worthy of further attempts, I'll turn around and try several attacks on it...refining braking points, entries, turning points, lines, apexs, expected exit points... la la la. Then I'll either ride away somewhat satisfied with a nod to myself....or do some more self and bike introspection.

I have always said that it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than it is to ride a fast bike slow. I always wanted a mid size single lunger (500 or 650) for mid and southern Ohio as long as you keep your eyes open for Amish buggies, but never got around to getting one.
