I have an X-Box 360.

Playing games all day is what those of us who have mastered our cash-flow do.

I bought Halo-3.

What an awesome game.

It's nearly as good as Gears of War (which is my all time favorite).

I can sit down at 06:30 AM and the next thing I know it's freaking midnight.

I measure time by having to get up and go pee.

If I was 18 right now I think I might be screwed.

I might never get off the couch and go out into the world.

It's great for us retirees though.

I can see this as a way to bring the teens and the baby boomer generation closer together:

"Hey gramps, you bogart! Pass me the bong and the X-Box 360 controller! I wanna take a hit and grease some aliens too ya know!"

One of the Airman in my SQ has it and got Halo 3 about two weeks ago because it was leaked here in England. I told him I might have to stop by and play it

I have the Wii now but I'm thinking of getting the 360 for Christmas. Anything but the PS3....

I don't know why this is, but ever since I left High School and joined the Navy I've never had a desire to buy a game system.

In Japan we went nuts over Halo and Halo 2, but everybody else had game systems and they always wanted more players so I never had a problem finding a place to play the game. I will say that this one game almost makes me want to go out and buy a a x-box 360 just to play it, but I'll let it pass.

I'm in it more for the story than the carnage but i do enjoy leaving a trail of mangled corpses in my wake.
you really need to read the books to know exactly is going on, the games barely scratch the surface.

as far as characters go the ODST's are almost as bad ass as the Chief himself, but Sgt. Johnson is probably the biggest BAMF of 'em all.

There was NO WAY I was going to wait in line until after midnight to get this the instant it came out.

I thought, "Hell, it's a school night! No way are there going to be fucking lines at the store for these games."

I was about as wrong as I could be. My daughter came back from school the next day and said there were ALL KINDS of absences that day. Evidently, parents let kids buy the game at midnight and stay up all night and stay home from school the next day playing it. She said that some kids showed up at school saying they had finished the game on Legendary the following day.

Holy Shit!


I find that incomprehensible that parents would allow that, but it happened. I have no idea what could be in a parent's mind that would allow their kid to do that. My kids can wait until after their homework is done or for the weekend!

Maybe I'm just a "straight."

I bought mine the first thing the next day. There were still copies, but I could see a BUNCH had been sold (there were only a couple on the shelf and ALL the Legendaries were gone).

I made it through "The Storm" before I stopped playing. I bought an HDTV that should be ready for pick-up tomorrow.

I can't play any more of this awesome game without an HDTV.

I agree about Johnson. He reminds me of Cole Train in Gears of War. Cole Train was the best "character" in that whole game.

I have to say, I suck at "Live."

I really suck.

I can stand there and blast the fuck out of someone at POINT BLANK RANGE over and over and over again and they just stand there aiming at me.

Then, they pull the trigger and I explode into about 5000 little pieces about the size of your thumb nail.

It's BULLSHIT! I even put a piece of tape in the center of my aiming reticle so I could take unaimed shots with perfect reloads.

It didn't do shit!

I gave up at live.

My daughter likes it OK.

tape in the reticle? never thought of that. i may see how it works for me. i used to own close in with the "shotty" when i got a feel for where it was shooting

good lawd, i know this guy who was supposedly "one of the top halo players on the east coast" that's already up to a General on 3.

IMHO halo is easier on line than gears. example: my kill/death ratio is actually in the positive. =D
I'm up to private ATM. Got a friend who's a gunny, maybe lieutenant by now. i could be higher but i relaxed after i got the ODST helmet and unlike everyone else; i got through the campaign before i started MP

I'm thinking of starting the game all over again once I get my HD set up.

I have been playing it on "Normal" but was thinking of moving up to Legendary (assuming you can do that - on Gears you had to finish the game on Hard-Core before you could do it on Insane) and collecting all the skulls.

One thing though.... The Cortana pop-ups are kinda neat and all, but I thought they did it much better on F.E.A.R.

When I played FEAR, it was downright scary from time to time.

I didn't get the same feeling when they tried to do it on HALO. I thought it was kinda weak.

Many might not see it that way, but I do.

I was asked by one "smacktard" if I was a "gay bitch" because I was playing on my 14 year old daughter's moniker. According to another player my moniker was just "TOO FUCKING GAY."

I have been called the "N" word because I chose the black guy on Gears of War (I LOVED Cole Train - he's a bad-ass and he has more personality than the rest of them put together). The funny thing is the other guys actually shouted him down for doing it.

I was accused of hunting little boys because from my voice they can tell I'm old enough to be their grandfather (I'm 50).

Another guy told me, "seriously old man, go kill yourself."

I must say though, none of that phased me a bit.

It didn't piss me off. Words like that out of a bunch of fucking ignorant hillbillies (smacktards) cannot harm me.

I usually just chuckle, say "Fuck you" and go find another game.


There is no need to let a bunch of insolent kids irritate me.

Some of it is actually pretty funny (the "go kill yourself" comment was particularly humorous to me at the time). The rest of it is so unbelievably STUPID that it's tough to take seriously.

i love when these kids talk shit they can't back up so you get to listen to all their excuses after the match.

The rating is there for a reason though. A lot of them are way too young to be playing halo or gears.
when you get the douche bags that should be old enough to conduct themselves, that's what's really annoying
