I'm getting my CCW license pretty soon... but I want to buy a better gun... they laugh at me when I bring my .22 to get ammo... I wanna Colt...wooden handle. and a .38 like the NY cops used to carry They let you carry a gun? Maybe we do need gun control after all! lol Seriously, as much as I'd like a gun, I would never attempt to buy a gun here in NY. You'll drown in the paperwork. |

a .22? I like to use that to shoot jackrabbits  My Dad's .45 is friggin big though. I'd go for something in the middle like a .38. |

Sucks for you mario, its the easiest thing in the world to get a gun, and almost easier to get a CCW.
bb: yeah I don't like my .22, I remember after I first got it and went to the gun store "you want .22 short or .22 long" man... I had no idea what they were talking about, bunch of hillbilly survivalists.
I just want to go to a gun show and buy something out of someones trunk or something

My father has had a consealed weapons permit for a little over a decade now. Every year he has to take his .45 revolver to the range to prove his accuracy with it. Will Nebraska have the same requirement? The way it's worded now, no. You have to take a safety course, with X amount of hours in a classroom, and X amount of hours on the range. When you do get it, it's valid for 5 years. |

If you have to shoot someone with that .22, don't try to hit him in the head. There was a case a few years ago where a woman used a .22 revolver to try to stop a home invader coming in through a window. He didn't stop when she leveled the gun on him and warned him so she let him have a round right in the forehead. The damn bullet BOUNCED! Scared the shit out of him though, he split just as fast as he could. My advice, MINIMUM of 9mm or .38 cal for home defense. While I own a 9mm I prefer my .45 ACP M1911A1, and my better half loves her .38 special revolver. |
