So I did... My third Jeep. I ran the wheels off the other two, both over 225Kmiles. This one should last till they plant me.

It's a 3.6 V6 mated to a 5-speed auto. I drove the 6 speed stick and wasn't comfortable feeling the friction point with my neuropathy. (Goddam Agent Orange!) Should be more than capable for any 4 wheeling I'm going to do.

Hey, I just sold my old YJ, and bought a new JK Wrangler about a month ago. I see you got the Rubi....... Cool! I'm taking mine Thursday to get a 2.5" lift kit put in it so I can run 33" tires. I'd like to go a little higher, but 2.5" is all I can go for now because of the warranty. I haven't taken any pictures of the new Jeep, but this is my old 92 YJ, with a 4" lift, and 35's.

Damn, TC!
That looks almost like my '91.
2.5" is probably all you really need anyway. Unless you're going for serious rockcrawling, 33-inchers should get the job done for ya.
What lift kit are you getting?

What lift kit are you getting? I'm getting the TerraFlex spring lift, with new shocks, and also an adjustable track bar. Your Jeep must be a 2012 if you've got the 3.2 Pentastar engine, with an aluminum block, that is rated at 285 HP, while mine is a 2011, and has the 3.8, with the iron block, and only puts out 202 HP. The line on the 3.8 is that it's kind of doggie on the highway, but compared to the 2.5 liter 4 banger in the YJ, it feels like a rocket. Right now I'm running Bighorn 285/75 16s that are about 32" but once I run them off I'll go to the 33s. Not much rock crawling here in Florida, but there is a lot of mud and water, so the extra height helps. Hunting season starts here on Oct. 22, and we've had a lot of rain, so I'll get a chance to see what this thing will do. I'm kind of jealous, and wish Obama would have re-distributed about five or six grand of your wealth to me so I could have bought the new Rubicon instead of the Wrangler. ;D

The Pentastar is a 3.6.
I was set to do a deal on a well discounted 2011 Sahara when a friend said to check out the 2012 for the upgraded power train. Like you, I was fine with the 3.8 on the hwy, coming from my Escape hybrid. The difference in performance made me dig deep enough that I said "WTF!" and went whole hog on a loaded up Rubi. In CA resale is higher on the Rubi than any other model.
Had to put a fat down along with my trade to afford it though. I'll be "transferring wealth" to the credit union well into retirement.
What the hell, it's only money.

Hey 101, I got the Jeep lifted, what do you think? I think I need some bigger tires. But between buying the jeep, and getting the lift kit I've been spending money like a drunken sailor, and am pretty much tapped out for now, so they're going to have to wait.

Badass!
Looks good on ya!
For me, I wouldn't go over 33" though. Not so pricey and they'll handle better on the highway.
