Hey I just came across a terrific video called "Midwest Heroes." The video features three servicemen who have served in Iraq: Lt. Col. Bob Stephenson of Minnesota, Captain Mark Weber of Iowa, and Staff Sgt. Marcellus Wilks of Iowa. The theme of the video is that "American troops are making real progress in Iraq." Here is a link to the site: www.midwestheroes.com

Oh, it's just right wing propaganda. Those guys (even though they all served their FULL tours or more) aren't superheroes like John "Gods gift to humanity" Kerry! Why we were winning in VN right up till he left! Why they were going to award him the Blue Max, Victoria Cross and the Croix De Guerre but his horribly greivous (bullshit) wounds FORCED him to run return to the states. Just look at his record...on second thought, better not, the TRUTH may get out.

Remember kids.....if Dick Cheney had the military training that John Kerry got when he was in Nam, Cheney wouldn't have shot his hunting partner.
At least that's what Tankey said.
I almost threw up my dinner when I read that...

The only argument that I won with HistoryMinor was concerning the Purple Heart. She was Bush Bashing and praising the Kerry three PHs' Bronze and Silver Stars. I told her that I would never bad mouth anyone who underwent live fire, but I had to question his 3 PHs as the men I knew who earned their PHs still bare the scars and many were maimed for life. She responded that she agreed that Kerry's medals should not be used to measure him by. Her husband was an airman in Pleiku and she too felt that the stories did not support the claims. CRW is a PH wearing and he too even thought his beloved Democrats made a mistake with that issue. I don't know about now, but my experience showed that anytime you were on the receiving end of live fire, we all wished to be somewhere else. There was a myth during the later years of Vietnam that the PH was given almost as easily as water. Maybe, the JFK awards fall into that category. But the few pukes I served with earned theirs the hard way. 101 earned his the hard way too, but then again most field gunners did. Did you know the unit that got hit today in Afghanistan?
