It looks like Al-Jafari is going to step down and allow the government to move on. The new nomination apparently was exiled in Syria during Saddam's reign. Here's hoping that the new government can continue to take root and start to allow us to focus on other matters. www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/04/22/iraq.main/index.html

If anything, this should shed some light on how serious the Iraqis are about achieving democracy -- albeit, at their own pace.
Al-Jafari had been considered one of the major stumbling blocks (if not the major stumbling block) towards progress.
I believe he has done the right thing by stepping down.

But, I guess he had to be somewhere. Any of your locals saying anything about of the new guy, Doug?
