"Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.)--author of the federal "assault weapon" and "large" ammunition magazine ban of 1994-2004--has said for weeks that she will soon introduce an even more restrictive bill. Leaders in the U.S. Senate have stated that January 22 will be the first day on which new Senate legislation can be proposed, so that is the most likely date for the new, sweeping legislation to be introduced. On Dec. 17th, Feinstein said, "I have been working with my staff for over a year on this legislation" and "It will be carefully focused." Indicating the depth of her research on the issue, she said on Dec. 21st that she had personally looked at pictures of guns in 1993, and again in 2012." www.nraila.org/legislation/federal-legislation/2013/1/feinstein's-new-gun-ban-bill-likely-to-be-introduced-january-22.aspx

No matter how many legistations she will produce, there will be no shortage of semi-automatic weapons and high capacity magazines. This sort of reminds the prohibition days. If you forbit something, people will desire that item. If you will try to take people's weapons by force, there will be bloodshed.
It is easy to attack legal gun owners because they are there. However, government is unable to tackle the criminal and terrorist elements within the US. They are unable to tackle the cause for violence. If you attack computer game producers and Hollywood crowd, then ACLU and other lawyers will attack you. If you focus on disfunctional families, where TV and VCR's are the "baby sitters" they could throw race card at you. If you suggest to have special camps for problem kids, then you get attack by the liberals they you are militarizing the youth. I like the program sacred beyond going straight. For some kids, they need to stay there longer. But again that would be a cruel and unusual punishment.
So, as you can see, legal gun owners are very easy target of government opportunists (liberals).

What exactly do they consider a "assault weapon" and a "large capacity magazine."

What exactly do they consider a "assault weapon" and a "large capacity magazine." -DD From all reports, they are looking at AR-15 and AK-47. As for magazines they are looking at any magazine with more than 10 round capacity.

Actually, DiFi and company are looking at nearly every semi-automatic rifle with a detachable magazine as an "assault rifle," not just the AR-15 and AK family. These dimbulbs, who know NOTHING about firearms went through a number of catalogs and just started listing anything any of them considered to be "military looking."
