A robbery suspect walked into a Flordia Burger King, flashed a gun, and robbed a family who was eating lunch.
The father attempted to follow the man, and at some point during the encounter feared for his life.
The father drew his concealed handgun and shot the suspect once, hitting him in the leg.
The suspect fled in a getaway car, but was apprehended by police along with a second suspect after the vehicle ran out of gas.
Police say the pair was responsible for the earlier strong armed robbery of a woman.
The father who shot the suspect will not face charges.
