Leaving in the morning to attend the interment, with full military honors, of my old CO at Arlington.
I mentioned back in Feb. that he had passed away, but because there is about a 3 month backlog, they are just now getting around to the burial. The funeral is Thursday, and several of my other 'Bandit" buddies will also be attending.
Although we've stayed in touch and have gotten together at several Company C reunions, I think it speaks well of a man, and an officer, that men who's lives were only connected to him for a couple of years are motivated to travel to DC, from all over the country, to be with him 40 years later as he's laid to rest at Arlington.

We'll be staying through the weekend, and hitting the Vietnam Memorial, the WWII Memorial, and the Air and Space Museum. And after the funeral, because we know he would want us to, we're going to party like it's 1974.
