Over the past few weeks I have been sampling some of the message boards on the internet and have an unscientific survey to report.
This mainly has to do with demographics - I have been on a Christianity board (NOT THC), a couple of guitar boards, and one or two general boards.
Even some of the specialty boards like the guitar boards have general discussion forums, and that's where you start to see their true colors.
For example, on the guitar boards, we talk about guitars, amps, and techniques. On the general board, they bitch about CEO's making too much money, the environment and "evil" big bidness, and such.
Here's an example:
I work for the worlds second largest Telecomunications company and I ******* resent the hell out of them, we have monthly meetings were we are told how much profit we are making for them, what the ***** do think that is gona do except raise my already massive contempt for the ******.
So I really suggest you get your self a life sir, if you wanna lick the boots of your stupidly rich and powerfull employer then you are living your life with your pants around your ankles.
This is the usual twentysomething "rage against the machine" drivel that we have all heard, a lot of times from people with electric guitars, or from hollywood types who don't have to worry about ever growing up or having to be responsible, so they tell other people how to live. My response:
Well, if you feel that strongly about it then why don't you just quit your "corporate whoring", making money for the "evil corporations", and do something productive for the world yourself.
The only problem is that you wouldn't have the faintest idea of how to do that, would you? In the meantime you can plug in your mass produced electric guitar painted with nitrocellulose lacquer and a rosewood fingerboard, talk on your cell phone, and drive around in your car whining about how big bidness is wrecking the planet.
Grow up.
It's getting harder to countenance vacuous left wing talking points any more. But I digress.
You see this pretty much across the board in the teen-twentysomething demographic, which tells me that the government school system is having an effect. A lot of the libs say that the more educated you are the more likely you are to be liberal. I say the more educated you are the more brainwashed you are. Like Pink Floyd so famously said; "We don't need no education, we don't need no thought control."
It's funny how these people never question the programming they get from their schools, only what they hear from traditionalists, and then they complain about conservatives not thinking for themselves.
The Christian boards are the same, with the religious left in full force there, just like at THC. A lot of them don't even believe in Christianity even though they say they do. It is my considered opinion that despite what the left says about keeping religion out of politics it is they who have infiltrated religion with their politics. The wreckage from the John Spongs of the world testify to that, along with the likes of John Kerry, Al Sharpton, and Jesse Jackson showing up in black churches touting left wing causes.
So you end up with people like Russeby, who call themselves "Christians", while denouncing "organized religion", clinging instead to "disorganized religion".
These people talk about the USA being like Nazi Germany: they have no idea how right they are. Ravi Zacharias says that the gas chambers and prison camps where so many Jews were exterminated were not created in the halls of government - rather, they were created in the university by nihilistic pholosophers and scientists.
The same people who consider murdering an unborn child a "right" will also whine about the deaths of professional soldiers in Iraq who chose their line of work but never even give an unborn child a chance for justice.
Again, it's pretty much across the board in that teen-twentysomething age group.
Oddly, as much as they want to call themselves "Christian", they totally reject the commandment to not covet what your neighbor has, and their mission in life seems to be to separate the people who have earned more money than they have from their money one way or another. Usually with taxes.
Then there's the other group; the throwbacks to the sixties, who never did grow up like Lakota and so on. You know who I mean.
There are two ways to look at this I think. This "rage against the machine" shit is pretty common - a lot of us have been through this phase until we got to be the people we were bitching about then we wised up. we knew we worked hard to get to where we are and no one gave us anything.
The sixties generation will be gone soon, and with them the Hillary Clintons, the John Kerrys, the Ted Kennedys, and all the other crooked hypocritical politicians. Their end can't come too soon as far as I am concerned.
Only time will tell if the generation behind us will get their heads out of their asses and keep America the land of the free and the home of the brave, or if they turn it into Europe.
