Miami Man Saves Own Life with an AK-47A Miami man is very thankful for being a proud gun owner after he was the victim of an armed home invasion. Last week three armed men entered a man’s apartment, pistol whipped him, and proceeded to beat him. At some point in the altercation the man was able to get a hold of his AK-47 and fight back. “The resident of the apartment had possession of an AK-47 and after he received this beating he was able to get possession or control of that, and started shooting at these suspects as they were fleeing.” He killed one of his attackers and chased the other two away. The police are searching for the other two assailants, who the victim knew, as all four men were acquainted. Once again we have proof that it pays to exercise your Second Amendment rights and own a firearm. What’s ironic here is that an AK-47 is exactly the type of gun the left would say is not a good “home defense” weapon. As this living Miami man can tell you, an AK-47 is a perfect home defense firearm. Any tool that you can use to save yourself at the moment of greatest need, is an ideal one. I should probably get one.
Hell, if it weren't for all the fucking CA nanny state restrictions, I'd already own one,

My son has one and says he likes it. He had an AR-15 at one point but traded it for the AK and some ammo, says he got the better end of the deal.

I have a Galil Assault Rifle, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IMI_Galil Which is basically a souped-up AK. it's a great gun, but it sure as hell is NOT the "ideal home defense weapon". You can crack nuts with a hydraulic press. That doesn't make a hydraulic press the "ideal" nutcracker.
So, if you call me a "the left", so much for that.

The Galil is a nice weapon. If you like it, it's a good choice.

I normally wouldn't consider any rifle or carbine an "ideal" choice for home defense but when it's all you've got at hand ... "Any tool that you can use to save yourself at the moment of greatest need, is an ideal one." I wrote before "Damn straight" because that's a view I agree with totally.
