They were fortunate Youngstown, that their SGT at Arms was
(1) Retired RCMP
(2) Had a handgun available, locked away in a safe in his office
(3) Cool headed when the manure hit the rotary device. Reportedly he never had to pull his weapon in the line of duty before retiring from the RCMP
Gun control in Canada is a bit more strict than it is here IIRC. Even a total nationwide ban on handguns like Australia's or Britain's would have meant dick-all in this case, this piece of radicalized Islamic krap was armed with a shotgun according to reports. The photo ISIS released (which may or may not have been him) showed a lever action rifle.
