(CNN) -- A stunning catalog of torture and the widespread abuse of even the weakest of North Koreans reveal a portrait of a brutal state "that does not have any parallel in the contemporary world," a United Nations panel reported Monday. North Korean leaders employ murder, torture, slavery, sexual violence, mass starvation and other abuses as tools to prop up the state and terrorize "the population into submission," the United Nations Commission of Inquiry on Human Rights in North Korea said in its report. The commission traced the abuses directly to the highest levels of the North Korean government while simultaneously blaming world leaders for sitting on their hands amid untold agony. "The suffering and tears of the people of North Korea demand action," commission Chairman Michael Kirby told reporters. It also sent a letter warning North Korean leader Kim Jong Un that he could face prosecution for crimes against humanity. www.cnn.com/2014/02/17/world/asia/north-korea-un-report/index.html?hpt=hp_t1

I'm so sure that Li'l Kim's shaking in his jackboots at the thought of a subpoena from the International Criminal Court.
Maybe Rodman will threaten to "defriend" him.

The UN is incapable of doing anything here. The only way I can see to end Kim's regime is through military action, and that ain't gonna happen even with UN authorization. We won't, the PRC won't as things stand now, SK has too much to lose, Japan can't, Russia won't and no one else has meaningful military resources in theater.
Sanctions? Bah! Kim will starve his entire population to death before weakening his regime's hold on power at all.

It was called the Korean War.

Yup, and that "ended" (if you want to call it that) with an open ended cease-fire broken from time to time by both sides. I don't see the festivities restarted at this point unless or until someone does something incredibly stupid to drop a lit match into the gas can, not even over this.
