Obama salute to Marines to be remembered as ‘Semper Latte’President Obama returned a formal military salute by saluting with a coffee cup he had in his hand as he stepped off his U.S. Marine Corps helicopter in New York on Sunday. A video of the gesture that some are calling the “latte salute” was uploaded to the White House Instagram account. "The salute formally recognizes the officer as a military superior, and returning the salute expresses the officer's thanks for the junior's support," the manual reads. **** Yeah, yeah ... I know Bush did something similar while carrying a dog, trust CNN to find the photo somewhere (I never knew about the incident until this morning, surprised the THC denizens didn't jump all over it when it happened.)

I'm sure he didn't either, but it would help if there was either a video clip or a photo with his hand to his brow so we could see where the little fuzzy goober was and how it was being held.
With Obama there was no doubt whatsoever.

I think it's expressive of his general attitude but with all the other shit he's done it seems like small potatoes compared to, say, Benghazi or IRS.

Brilliant minds often think alike 101. I had that wish when I first saw the video. Of course, THAT wouldn't have made it onto the web ... damn it.
