There was a shooting across and down the street from my home last night. One person shot, condition not known to me as I write this.
The police rolled in about 2230 and set up their perimeter. The other emergency vehicles set up at the end of the cul-de-sac.
I don't know all the details but the police took a number of young men into custody, at least 6 according to my wife. They were treating the place like there was someone in there ready to open fire on them (smart IMO given the atmosphere today). 2 officers with M-4s covered the front of the house from cover, I assume a like number in the back plus there was an officer/K-9 team out front as well.
They kept the perimeter up until about 0230.
Found out something interesting from my daughter this morning, a number of officers in the VA Beach know her (friends, not professionally) and through her my wife and I. At least one of them contacted her this morning, checking up on us and she called us.
I didn't know we had friends on the department who kept tabs on us.
I'm looking for more information on the incident and will post anything of interest.
