... Hampton Roads gets slammed by heavy snow and the 2nd time I get time off from work from it. I got 6 inches in my front yard overnight and was given the option of not going in this morning. The only real reason I decided to play hooky today is the 20 mile drive to work on roads that are totally screwed up. I'll probably go in tomorrow.
Last week on Monday the snow started around Noon instead of 4pm as forecast so had to drive home in it, it took 2 1/2 hours to make what is normally a 20-30 minute trip and for the very first time since moving here in 1984 I had my windshield wipers freeze up, stopped twice to clear them but the motor still burned out while still a mile from home.
Then Monday afternoon of this week we got a surprise inch or 1 1/2 inches and THAT left me with a 2 hour trip home.
I am SO over winter now.
