Hiliary made it official yesterday and Rubio made it official today.
I'm curious about those who think Hiliary is a lock for the 2016 Dem nomination. She was a lock in 2008 as well and I only see her as have more negatives about her today then she did back then.
Back then she didn't have Benghazi and she didn't have her e-mail scandal. She also has to figure out how she's going to run with only minimal criticism of the Obama administration, since she will need his full endorsement.
For Rubio, I don't know much about him, but what I've heard sounds promising. If I consider the GOP field of Cruz, Paul, Walker, Bush, Christie and Rubio, I would tend to favor Rubio at this point.
Thoughts?

Yeah, Hillary has a lock on the nomination now just as she did in '08 ... until Barack hit the scene. The person most likely to threaten that this time around says she isn't interested in the job, Elizabeth Warren. Rubio sounds good, so does Cruz and Rand Paul obviously wants the job too. However, I don't think ANY of those 3 have what this country needs ... someone with executive experience, experience running a successful organization and making important decisions. That to me says either a businessman or a governor. I'm thinking Scott Walker or Bobby Jindal would be a good choice. Fiorina's name is being floated as a successful businesswoman, but I currently don't know enough about her outside of her leadership of HP except that she apparently sits somewhere to the left of the aforementioned men. Just my point of view of course. That and a buck and a half will get you a cup of coffee at a cheap restaurant.

Rubio sounds good, so does Cruz and Rand Paul obviously wants the job too. Its hard for me to get past that, even as well as he has done running Wisconsin. As for Jindal, is he still interested in the job? He was decently big on the scene back in 2009, but he underwelmed the few times he had a national spotlight. We'll see if he declares or not. Just my point of view of course. That and a buck and a half will get you a cup of coffee at a cheap restaurant. Yep yep. -DD

A few months later and a lot of newer names in the mix. Donald Trump is going to keep it entertaining, but I'm still hoping Rubio ends up with the nomination.

Yeah, having Trump in will be amusing but he may also add something to the conversation besides being the joke du jour. Jindal is in and Walker should be announcing shortly. I think either would be a good Chief Executive, perhaps with Rubio in the VP slot.
On the Dem side, Jim Webb and Bernie Sanders have announced. Personally, given a choice I'd take Webb over any of the others on the Dem side but Sanders is gaining traction vs Hillery. The fact that Hillery isn't granting serious interviews doesn't help her case at all.

I should probably run.
Hell, everybody else is.
Nah, never been one to go along with the crowd.

The fact that Hillery isn't granting serious interviews doesn't help her case at all. Webb is going to run? I missed that one. The only dems I was tracking was Clinton, O'Malley, and Sanders. Given the choice among the four, I concur with Webb being the best of a lot of bad options. As for Clinton not granting interviews, someone on Fox News Sunday made a good point. Candidates granting interviews are generally trying to get themselves noticed by voters and to build momentum leading into the nomination. Clinton is a different case where we have a candidate who has been in the public spotlight for 23 years or so. Although her current stances may not be well defined she is very well known across the country and most everyone has an opinion, positive or negative on her. In her case its too her benefit to just leave this as it is and deny interviews until we get further along in the nomination process. As for the GOP side, a lot of these guys missed the boat and should have run in the 2012 election. I don't see anything in Christie or Jindal which makes me want to vote for either of them. For Jindal specifically I remember him as a rising GOP star in 08 and 09 and being given the shot to give the GOP response to Obama's state of the union. He came across still, rehearsed, and to me, an GOP version of an empty suit. Hearing his voice during his announcement to run for office I again hear a guy I think sounds soft and weak. Time will tell, but for now I'll stick with Rubio. -DD
