(CNN)—Iran's Supreme Leader has said the country will not allow any inspections of its military facilities, the official state news agency reported Wednesday. The announcement might set back international efforts to reach an agreement that would assure the world that Iran is not developing nuclear weapons. Any such agreement would rely on international inspections of Iran's nuclear facilities. On the other hand, Iran says that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only, so the country's nuclear facilities might not be covered by the statement by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader. The statement was reported by the Islamic Republic News Agency, or IRNA. edition.cnn.com/2015/05/20/middleeast/iran-military-inspections/index.html

No inspections to verify compliance with any agreement? What happened to that half of the equation "trust but verify?" Trust alone won't work.
Tell me again, what the hell is being negotiated?

All right. Everybody out of the pool. No inspections, no deal. It was a longshot anyway, and that IS the straw that breaks the camel's back. And I am sick and tired of listening to the Iranians talk all this trash about "no this" and "no that" when the best this agreement would bring is a delay, maybe buy a year or two, removing the sanctions these bastards so richly deserve for their nuclear program, AND their state-sponsored terrorism throughout the region, when they are going to have a bomb anyway in short order. I say lock them up tighter than a gnat's ass. The harshest sanctions possible. Then let's see what terms we get. I've had enough. I did NOT agree with Netanyahu's tactics. And I already HAD a LOT of reasons for hating the bastard. BUT... Enough is enough.

You and me both brother.
The question in my mind is "what is the administration going to do" how will our "partners" in these negotiations react?
Ten bucks says the Saudis stop talking about going nuclear and act on it. If I remember correctly they had also been interested in an ABM capability and AEGIS capable ships. I'd say a shore based ABM capability like our Patriot or Israel's Arrow (not necessarily those systems) is in their near future. The shore based system would be quicker to procure and put in place than ships unless those ships are already afloat.
Shore based ABM is probably also in the future of some of the other Gulf states.
