Obama: "We don't have a complete strategy for ISIS"

President Obama said Monday the United States does not have a complete plan to train and equip Iraqi forces to fight the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), saying Baghdad needs to show a greater commitment to building a fighting force.

“We don’t yet have a complete strategy,” Obama told reporters during a news conference at the G-7 summit of leading industrial nations in Germany.

Obama’s comments are a surprising admission nine months into the U.S.-led coalition’s campaign against the terror group.

I know I'll draw fire for "protecting Obama" (EVEN THOUGH I HAVE BEEN SAYING THIS ALL ALONG...), but what IS the strategy? And why is this wrong to say when we( the U.S. and it's allies, to say nothing of our enemies) KNOW we don't have a strategy?

That's because there ISN'T any.

The ANSWER is, THEY DON'T BELIEVE IN FIGHTING FOR THEIR FREEDOM.

RELIGION motivates men more than FREEDOM in the Middle East.

THEY aren't motivated, just like so many that have been our proxies (South Vietnam comes to mind...at least when compared to the NORTH.).

ISIS IS.

They may be the WRONG motives as far as we are concerned, but they'll carry those people a lot farther than the Iraqi Army.


We aren't going to stay there forever. ISIS knows that.


You CAN'T fight for somebody else's freedom. Not if THEY won't. If they don't fight for it, it wasn't their freedom in the FIRST place.
