I'm not familiar enough with most of the leadership to have an opinion though I think it could be fun if Trey Gowdy somehow got dragooned into the position. I don't think he wants it, but I'm leary about trusting someone who does want it like Boehner did.

Forgive me for calling it like I see it, but Boehner was politically of the old school that believe in pollitics being a game of give-and-take and compromise, as it once was, and as it was designed to be, by those who designed our government's separation and balance of powers.
The politicians of today's day and and age want an all-or-nothing political "crusade", and are perfectly happy to vote straight Party agenda, i.e., nothing but the Party platform, and to hell with anybody who has the opposing Party's letter after their name.
Senators and House Reps of both Parties have quit becuase they can't stand a Congress that has so many people who are willing to vote against a measure simply because it's Democratic or Republican, regardless of how the people as a whole feel about it, and regardless of it was for the common good.
Boehner was an anachronism.
I'll miss him.
In a day and age of intense partisanship, he believe in keeping the wheels of government turning instead of trying to oppose EVERYTHING the opposition did, ALL the time, and shutting down the government whenever the opportunity presented itself.
God, at least let's get SOMETHING done( every now and then).

"I'll miss him."
I'm sure all the Democrats will.

"I'll miss him." I'm sure all the Democrats will. I wouldn't know, since I am not a Democrat... as I have said countless times before. Additionally, I know that the Founding Fathers designed our political system to be based on compromise being essential. The results of the lack of compromise in our government today demonstrates what happens when we fail to recognize that need. And I'm not the only one who recognizes it on either side of the aisle, I assure you. Like I said:
I'll miss him. us.cnn.com/2015/09/27/politics/john-boehner-kevin-mccarthy-speakership/index.html
