Nah.
On the other hand, if things in some of those areas ever settle down sufficiently he's already familiar with the people and ground there, he might find himself in a position to be able to build something beneficial and lasting for those people. I think he might agree that wouldn't be a bad thing.

I'd have to pass on this one.
I turned down an offer to go back to Vietnam a couple of years ago.
I lost plenty there but none of it is waiting there for me to return.
I do have the Holy Land and Egypt on my bucket list but I have some other (safer) destinations in mind first.

I've never been to Egypt, was supposed to pull liberty in Alexandria at one point back in the '80s but something came up (as usual) where they needed the EastMed duty destroyer to keep an eye on things. I forgot what it was so it must have been boring as hell.
I can recommend Israel, been there several times.
