Scalia's body isn't even cold yet and there is already a fight brewing on whether or not the Senate will take up confirmation of an Obama choice for successor. McConnell says No, Reed and Schumer say "it must be done" or some such words. I won't go into the conduct of the Reed Senate. There hasn't been a successful appointment / confirmation gotten through the Senate when made by a President of the opposing party since 1880 according to John Blackman joshblackman.com/blog/2016/02/13/nominations-to-supreme-court-in-election-year-with-divided-and-unified-governments/ . If the Senate fails to confirm Obama can still go the Recess Appointment route, placing his choice onto the bench for a period of up to 2 years. The Senate has no choice but to go into recess on January 3 prior to the next Congress being sworn in. I think the last President to do that was Ike. After finishing his Saturday round of golf in California, Obama said today that he make the appointment in due time.

More and more, law enforcement officials are asking why no autopsy was done. The Texas Judge who declared him dead over the phone did so solely on the word of the deputies and marshals on the scene who declared to her that "there is no evidence of foul play." This despite who he was and the fact that he was found with a pillow over his head.
Veteran homicide detectives will tell you that even with someone nearly 80 years old and with known health conditions, simply because of who he was they would treat his death as a potential homicide until cause of death was determined definitively.
The Death certificate initially read Cause of Death "Heart Attack." It has since been changed to read "Natural Causes."
The devotees of Alex Jones and other conspiracy theorists are already spinning up.
