I'm getting tired and bored with being objective and open minded. Why should we be tolerant of those who do not side with us?

Not sure what, in particular, you're thinking about.
But, I'd say it depends.
If those who don't side with us are thinking about getting total power, or keeping people with your viewpoint out of any real political power, you'd be dumb to tolerate it.

Personally, I don't give a rat's ass anymore about "tolerance". I am 52 years old, have faced death over and over again and not only do I have hard won beliefs, honestly aquired, but I am getting tired of being told to sit down and shut up lest the commie libs or one of their designated victim groups get offended.
Screw them. I am old enough to remember when we had freedom of speech in this country and they can kiss my ass and get over themselves.
They don't mind offending people and I'm getting tired of their hypocritical double standards.
Example: they thought a cricifix in a glass of piss was art but let the military be accused of abusing the Koran and they throw a hissy fit. The message is that it's okay to offend people as long as you offend the right people.
Assholes.
