Can a nation as materialist as the United States be considered "Christian"? Of course. Do a majority of Americans accept Christ as their Savior? If so, that makes America a Christian nation. We aren't a perfect Christian nation (no country is) but America is actually one of the more religious nations in the world - if you can believe it. We are also probably the most religious nation in the First World. Every other rich Capitalist country has gone over to worshipping the Almighty Dollar instead of Christ.

Even though many Americans accept Christ, AMerica is a secular nation.

Even though many Americans accept Christ, AMerica is a secular nation. I wouldn't go so far as to call America a secular nation. When our elected leaders call upon God to help them serve, I don't think that's an example of a secular country.

I wouldn't go so far as to call America a secular nation. When our elected leaders call upon God to help them serve, I don't think that's an example of a secular country. Our leaders calling upon God to help them serve is an example of our freedom of religious practice and freedom of speech. America is a secular nation in that we do not recognize a state religion, and I pray to God we never do.
