Why the left became hostile to religion Bucks County Courier Times By J.D. Mullane A Roman Catholic campaigns for the presidency, pledging to keep religion separate from the duties of office. Yet, upon being elected, the new president prominently makes the sign of the cross during the inauguration ceremony and shamelessly invokes God in his address to the nation. Troubling? To many liberals it is, if my completely unscientific poll over the last few weeks is an indicator. "Worrisome, to me. That should never happen," a cutting-edge liberal Democrat told me last week. But when I tell them that's exactly what John F. Kennedy did at his inauguration on Jan. 20, 1961, the spluttering commences. Whaaaat? Yes, JFK blessed himself twice and told the nation: "With a good conscience our only sure reward, with history the final judge of our deeds, let us go forth to lead the land we love, asking His blessing and His help, but knowing that here on earth God's work must truly be our own." The more intriguing issue is why, in the eye-blink of 44 years, did the left become so hostile to religion and people of faith? READ THE REST: www.phillyburbs.com/pb-dyn/news/219-05012005-483525.html

It's funny how few dims today know that JFKs tax cuts to spur the economy closely resembled Reagan's. Yet JFK was a genius and RR a senile imbecile, according to them.

In all the times I've heard a leftist gush about Kennedy, his supply-side tax cuts never did rate a mention. What else should we expect from the Left? Later.

Knowledge of economics, what do you do? For twenty years, I was a fabricator (welding, plumbing, painting, electrical, and electronic wiring, etc.) and service technician in the water/wastewater industry; building, installing and servicing the equipment used by municipalities and military bases. I made a good living at it and had lots of experience that would help me in a variety of fields, but I wore our my knees and had six arthroscopic surgeries before I "retired" (Work Comp since 1999) to become a daytime domestic dad to my youngest boys who are now 10 & 11. I went back to college (dropped out at 19 to take that job) and earned my certificate of acheivement (all the major's courses w/o the general ed. of a degree) in accounting, and am just one course away from finishing the general ed. I am going to start looking for work in accounting pretty soon now that the boys are about old enough to be left alone after school, but at 45 it's hard to get in the door. I applied a bunch of places when I first got the cert., but got no responses. I was one of those high IQ kids who went through school in every AP class with the same dozen or so other mutant brainiacs, but hated school. I was an avid reader and studied a variety of subjects in my own way, on my own time. I have subscribed to numerous financial, political, and business newsletters since the mid 80s, which is where I get my "knows a little about a lot" eclectic exposure, and peculiar mix of political positions.

Sounds like me. I enjoy reading in my own time and reading what I want to read. Well, another year and a half and school is over for me. I hope I last.
