Flag burner arrested in Tennessee

Some kid decided to burn a flag on the 4th of July in Tennessee and was jailed for nine days. He is being charged with "Desecrating a verated object."

I like his Dad's comment about his drinking: "He's not very good at it."

"I was drunk" doesn't work as an excuse for anything else.

Why is getting drunk an excuse for stupid-ass behavior? If I do something really dumb when I drink, I don't try to hide behind the "I was drunk" excuse.
