I posted this subject on THC awhile back.
I believe military parades would be a great idea. They would encourage patriotism and make our military more popular as well as educate many Americans about the military.

Just as I said back then....
No. Absolutely not.
I would agree to it only if the soldiers were completely disarmed. In uniform is fine but no weapons or any kind and no vehicles with weapons.
What makes this country different from every other country is that we don't glorify anyone. We don't glorify our leaders or our military. We are obviously truly thankful for everything that they do but this is a Constitutional Republic and not a military dictatorship. Dictatorships are the only countries that have military parades and that is because they need to instill fear in the people.
I just get rubbed the wrong way by military parades. If it's a parade of thanks, that's fine. No weapons needed.
The second you add weapons to it I get nervous. I don't want to live in an America where armed soldiers walk down the street.....

I think military parades are great on patriotic holidays like Independence Day, Veterans Day or other days such as Armed Forces Day.

I agree, and we need more like the old guard. It would be nice to see all the different uniforms from different eras represented.
