As a fair and generous people, we are compelled to restrain ourselves from holding thougts of disgust or scorn for the beliefs of others. Indeed, nowhere else can there be found a people with such a great capacity for tolerance to the extent that we do. But we are now faced with a hating and envious enemy. This enemy seeks nothing less than our total annihilation.
We are inclined, by the basis of our upbringing, to judge individuals as they come. And this is rightly so in a civilized and developed society ruled by the functions of law. Our enemy does not believe in such ideals. When a Danish newspaper expressed its right to display cartoons, did the Muslims seek redress through legal means? No. They burned embassies and destroyed property. When rumors of abuse at Camp X-Ray circulated, did the Muslims seek redress through diplomatic channels or hold peaceful protests? No. They rampaged in their own streets and killed their own people. Every year we read of new accounts of terror and mayhem in the so-called Muslims "world" - whether its the destruction of Spanish trains, the killing of Israeli children, or the murder of Indian citizens. In the Philliphines, in Chechnya, in Afghanistan, and across the entire swath of Asia Minor and North Africa, rampage is king. Suicide bombings. Abductions. Beheadings. It is certainly no coincidence that every country of the world where Islam is prominent, political turmoil, economic destitution, violence, or all three afflict the inhabitants - Muslim and "infidel" alike.
This is certainly not new. Even our second president had to manage the barbarism of Islam when it attempted to extort American shipping. We should beware of extending our natural generoristy to Islam. We are setting ourselves up for a dangerous surprise when the mask of "peace" is removed, and the true face of Islam is revealed.
