Tittus - Hehe ... if you are referring to the "Chris Matthews Interview," ... I made that up; it only existed in my head. Now, if you are referring to the cnn.com article, it was Pelosi and Reid, as minority leaders, who announced the Democrats national security plan -- a plan that only exists in their heads. observation that all the truly ugly stuff from either party comes from recognizable people who will never truly harm the party. If the censure plan had flown, I am sure Hilary would have made it her own. My wife read the Buchanan article "Why the Democrats win the 2006 Election" and turned and asked; "are the American people really so stupid?" I did not respond because I believe the answer is yes. The correct title was: "The Bush Malaise" and the quote that caused her to pause was: " The U.S. economy – 4 percent growth, unemployment under 5 percent, the Dow above 11,000, NASDAQ at five-year highs – appears strong. But with gold pushing $600 an ounce and silver closing in on $12, the markets seem to be saying: Nobody's money is as good as gold. Both the local paper's title and the factoid that Bush's approval is at 37% make it apparent that the media is in control. I am afraid that the Left will regain control unless the truth can make it through the BS propaganda machine or the "princes and princess" make a fool of themselves. If that happens, I look for apathy to run rampant.

Tittus -
I remember reading that article by Buchanan and having nearly the same reaction as your wife.
If the Democrats regain control of the House and Senate this fall, it will be by sheer ignorance. I am amazed by how people cannot realize the Democrats really have no "plan" whatsoever regarding the future of our country -- all they want is power.
The Republicans aren't really fairing any better. Their leadership, however, seems more apt to organizing the party and more capable of developing a concise message. The question is: Will the Republicans be able to do it in time for the fall elections?
Personally, I foresee high voter apathy this fall.
