I don't think Americans hate enough. We live in a PC-culture where hate of any sort is demonized. Uncontrolled, unjustified, and misdirected hate causes problems. Problems are bad. But hate of our enemies - those who desire to kill us, for instance - only strengthens the resolve in a grueling battle for our people's life. The Bible says to love even our enemies. But even God hates. He hates sin. We should hate those things that do us harm.
I think Americans truly love their country. But I also think many Americans misunderstand the meaning of love. Love is not only a word. Love is action. Saying "I support the troops" is great. But donating your time and your energy to the country is greater. Love also means resisting those who would destroy what you love.
It's been more than 200 years since we became a country. I think it's about time we consider "American" an ethnicity. No more hyphenated nonsense.
The ideal of "American" is more international than humanism or any form of liberalism. We respect the beliefs, cultures, and practices of - well - everyone. We welcome everyone. Humanism and liberalism seek to destroy faith, dignity, and liberty by persecuting cultural values, religion, and accountability.

Actually, to the people of other countries "American" is an ethnicity. When I told Germans that I was of Irish/German ancestery you could see the change in attitude and novelty (for them) at being gemished.

Oh I know that. But most Americans don't seem to think that.
