Well, William...some people here have been hoping that Tom had the cajones to come here and act like the arrogant bastard that he does on another board, without all the rules and thought police we have over there.

If I appear to be arrogant to you I would appreciate you informing me so that I might change whatever it is. I try to write as clearly as possible but I understand that sometimes things will be taken wrong.

It just so happens that he claims to be a male nurse in a psych ward of a prison, and you say you nursed the facilities of a prison. Then you come here out of the blue, and with twenty forums and hundreds of threads, post only under two different headings that both deal with the place we know Tom from and defend him in just your second post.

Perhaps I misunderstood the instructions. I posted here because I was new, an thought I was supposed to. I find this board a little more difficult to navigate than others and if I have erred, I did not mean to.

My post to the other gentleman was not so much a defense of anyone. I tried to suggest that he was being impolite. If that is not allowed here, then I will certainly not do it in the future.

With your screen name being exactly the same as one Tom used on a board administered by one of the members here, I'm sure you can see that it just looks like too many eerie coincidences. What are the odds of something like that happening? Can you really blame anyone for being skeptical?

I do not blame anyone for anything. It seems that I have caused confusion, which I did not mean to do.

It would actually be somewhat disappointing if Tom thought he could pull something like that off around here. On the other hand, it would be a real hoot if he did it and deliberately left clues to see how long it took, or if he could be unmasked at all, and then came clean about it. He would actually be welcome here and might even make some friends if he talked about things other than politics.

You speak of this person as a "kanah'go nah" or forest spirit who leads people astray, it seems.

I lurk on 15 different boards, and I posted before on THC. I pick up boards that sound interesting, and the name of this board was interesting. I thought some of the names here were familiar, but there are many names on many boards.

I used to have a forum very similar to this one, and there was a guy there who had exactly the same email username - jailnurse - and the same forum username - Beorn. I figured it had something to do with LOTR but I never thought it might be a family name.

But now I am really confused.

Which one of these identities is the real you? Is it the MENSA nurse or is it the handyman?

Not that it matters but after you made fun of my job as a chemist - what was the word? it was a lot like "boring" - it would be interesting if you were really the garbage man with 5,000 books.

My name does not come from Lord of the Rings. It comes from The Hobbit. Beorn is a man/bear who lives in the woods and is a beekeeper. I am a large man who lives in the woods. I am a member of Bear Clan. I thought the name fit. It is close to my tribal name of "Gahedago'wah hnyagwai" which means "Bear of the woods". Even this is not quite accurate, for all the tribal languages of the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) have merged and blended.

I have only one identity. I have no idea what a MENSA nurse is. I call myself a handyman because I thought people would think I was bragging if I called myself a jack of all trades.

In a larger examination of this group, we all are refugees of THC.

From my vantage liberals are welcome provided they are accompanied by an adult--that means adults here are respectful of each other period, and do not load-up posts to begin a shot-out. Here sexagenarians such as myself easily can become friendily with a guy like Mario!

Liberals can be included here because we would like to listen to logical ideas. You will be respected in turn if would do so as well. Many of us Red-Staters relish logical challange, and would enjoy the discussion provided it is beyond slogans, and DNC talking points as a focus.

I am not sure whether you are suggesting that I be myself or whether you want me to act like this Tom of whom you keep speaking. Exactly what are you asking me?

Obsequious? No. I am in a room full of strangers who know the rules well and I don't. Until I do, I will try and be polite. I must still be doing something wrong. It seems that I am upsetting people without trying to.
