I've been busy with grad school, so my posting over at THC has been sporadic, at best, with the exception of the past week or so.
This place seems like it would be a great rear-area rest & refitting type place, away from the front lines of THC.
Hot grub and showers, and a PX complete with shaving cream, toilet paper and dirty magazines.

I just added several doozies of quotes from her to the moonbat quote section, all of it taken from the "discussion" on Manifest Destiny.

Your debate with her was great. Especially when she tried to lecture you on Poetry, just as she tries to lecture me on History. Like 30 times you kept asking her for quotes proving that O'Sullivan was racist and every single damn time she replied with, "O, I don't need to. It's implied". Yea, ok HM..... I gave up with the debate over Manifest Destiny when she started to compare our Founding Fathers to Hitler. And when she then told me that she knew more than the entire American teaching establishment. She is definitely out of her mind.... BTW, did you say that you studied poetry? What kind? I'm an English Minor so I've done some studying of it as well. I just can't stand contemporary writings. The only "modern" writings that I like were in-between WWI and II. Specifically The Wasteland by T.S. Eliot and The Great Gatsby. |

Thanks very much for the welcome! It's very good to be here. I don't really have an excuse for waiting so long to actually show up, other than the fact that I've been busy with grad school.
I look forward to being able to talk about some things with you guys without all the static from our moonbat friends who are so prevalent over at THC.

BTW, did you say that you studied poetry? What kind? I'm an English Minor so I've done some studying of it as well. I just can't stand contemporary writings. The only "modern" writings that I like were in-between WWI and II. Specifically The Wasteland by T.S. Eliot and The Great Gatsby. Yeah, I'm finishing up my master's thesis in English this semester, and modern poetry ("modern" literature pretty much ends somewhere between 1950 and 1960, where it starts getting into the "contemporary" or "postmodern" time periods) is my specific area. My master's thesis is actually on some of T.S. Eliot's critical writings, but it deals with poetry from the seventeenth century on. I actually don't care for most of the postmodern stuff, either, FF. I've just about had enough of all the nonsense involved in getting a post-graduate degree from a large research institution anyway. What I would like to do is get my Ph. D. at a reputable Catholic or smaller private university. That narrows my options quite a bit, as it turns out. So, FF, if you have any recommendations, I'm all ears. Talk to you later. |
