Victory at Sea in my opinion was the finest B&W TV production ever made. It utilized US Navy and US Army film. However what really made the show was the music. Richard Rogers wrote the scores. Collectively it is the longest piece of musical work ever written. And I while I agree the music helped make the show, the sound reproduction on TV's of that era SUCKS compared to what we enjoy today. That said I believe it to be perhaps Mr. Rogers finest work.
