Oh my aching butt!!! Took the mount up to visit my ole gov’ment boss from Kuwait this weekend – to Northern New Jersey. 600 miles round trip. It was cool, and I solidified my tank bag weekend stay packing – although I’ll be bringing my other (much newer) digital camera from this point forward. I’ve determined;
1. MUST get a new seat – I know I’m outta practice for long haul rides but…holy shit, my ass is still tender. Thinking Corbin or Sergant for a new saddle. 2. At highway cruise speeds of 70-90 MPH the high frequency vibration in the (especially) throttle grip becomes numbing – I’m gunna need some kind of throttle friction.
The rig ran like a champ – got about 150 miles per fill up (no reserve light flashing). No loose nothing, no oil seeps, and surprisingly that tiny little windscreen actually pops a good portion of the air over my nogg’n.
Other than not enough curves in the road and a spanking new Yamaha FJR1300 (that was my primary wish bike), and I cruised with for a few – OK, maybe I’ll get one later. But the Z did well – and I so dig winding it up to say 6500-7500- RPM in 1st or 2nd gear then snapping the throttle and having the front gracefully climb skyward.
I'll post a few pic - when my friend e-mails to me.

Damn can't remember. The Jersey shore is rather long But it was probably Sandy Hook. I was down (in typical New Jersey fashion) at exit 63 - Long Beach Island. I think Sandy Hook is 117 if I'm not mistaken. My house is at Exit 135, you shoulda told me you were comin to Jersey. I coulda seen that hot bike of yours

Yes, it was Sandy Hook. Here's a place we ate Here's my and my ride near da beach: Here's me on friend Dyna: Not a bad mount really, actually nicely put together, but I kept hitting the RPM limiter at 5 grand. And he kept shifting mine at too low an RPM. ROFL

Tsk tsk tsk Husky - wearing non-full fingered gloves? That's a recipe for losing your knuckles No wonder your ass hurts - how the HELL could you ride that bike 500 miles? You need to get yourself a Cruiser for one of those rides BTW what does that say on the back of the bike? Z1000? I'm also a huge fan of the dual-exhaust

Ya my butts still abit tender - when I do 1000 miles straight I'll put in for the "Iron Butt" award. Homey don't do cruisers. Yep Z1000 it says. Nice set of 'cans' from Two Brothers Racing - sweeeet noise plus an extra 5-6 horses and a couple foot pounds of torque.
