Road trip to Harpers Ferry, WV with the second girl. My second oldest daughter an I took off Saturday for WV. It was actually a nice ride on some country two lane road, that is after you can muster your way outta the urban DC metropolitan area – sheesh. Harpers Ferry doesn’t look like it’s changed, nor grown, much since the Civil War. The whole town is damn near just two parallel streets – but we did see a whole bunch of folks river rafting. A map for ya: OK, just about ready to split: Here's a pic from the hill top in Harpers Ferry. The Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers join just below. Center in the picture and just to the left of the visible river is the train trestle – that rail bridge was destroyed in the battle, as the Confederates bombarded the Federal troops from the hill across the river on the right. Opps, dang how'd she get in this? Downtown Harpers Ferry (and that's a stretch to call it that) But we found where ole Stonewall holed up for a few. It is now a bed in breakfest. Again, nice little run - and me and the second gotta hang out. Sweet!

Mighty pretty country up there Husky. Mrs and I are thinking about taking a side trip through the area there when we head up to Michigan next month. Your #2 is a cutie too Husky. The girls must take after their mom, right? Get that quality time while you can shipmate.

Husky, You're creating the memories they'll tell your great-grandchildren long after you're gone. Good work, Dad.

The girls must take after their mom, right? Get that quality time while you can shipmate. It's a pretty area - worth a night stay over. I was abit disappointed with the "Historic Hilltop House Hotel" (that's the pics of my daughter and the bike overlooking the rivers). Excellent location, beautiful views, and historic. But, the service sucked, the food was mediocre at best, and the first room they offered us was damp, musty and not turned yet. My daughter commented on the waiter’s service and the water stains on the silverware (girls). Yahoo has people rating it as 4 stars – I dunno man. We both walked away abit disappointed in that place. But there’s not a whole lot others to select from there. Ya she's kinda neat as well - she's the tallest of the bunch (to the chagrin of my oldest) and both have sarcastic humor (that may have come from me), but fortunately their looks comes from their mother.

How old is your daughter Husky? Old enough to understand I can make her life miserable and young enough not to be able to do a damn thing about it.
