This is a small sampling of some of the bikes I have owned - these are the more memorable ones (not my pictures): Honda VF750F "V45 Interceptor" BMW R100S (and mine was even this color) Ducati F1 I had a 1962 pre-unit Triumph Bonneville but it wasn't as much of a rat bike as this one: 1937 Harley Davidson ULH 80 - mine was a little less stock than this one but if I still had it I could probably name my price for it.

Sweet!
Gone back aways...the only one I've riden in this lineup is the Honda Interceptor...gosh...that was back in the early eighties...83 or so.
Cool memory trip.

My Inteceptor was the blue one - I didn't like the color of the red ones. If I am not mistaken, the VF750F team almost won Daytona their first attempt even after having shredded their tires (Michelins - fucking Frog tires) and gone in for tire changes. One of the bikes finished second.
I used to slide that one around curves. I wanted the 500 version but so did everybody else so I had to settle for the 750. The 750 was a lead sled.
That BMW in the picture has BMW factory mags. I don't remember the exact year of my bike but it was earlier than this one. It had Morris mags, a Boyer ignition, and a lumpy cam in it. (It would have had wire wheels from the factory.)
What can I say about the Ducati? That was a knee and elbow dragging bike with a really shitty electrical system. I was really enamored with that Desmodromic valve system - I used to rev it up to 52 MPH in first gear - they called it an Italian tuneup.
I really loved that bike but it was a high maintenance ride.
And speaking of shitty electrical systems, Triumph had the Lucas electrics - you know, Lucas, Prince Of Darkness?
I loved that old Harley, though. The only reason I let it go was because it was getting hard to find parts for it, and wouldn't you know, right after I got rid of it they started making repop stuff for it.
Altogether, I have owned 4 Harleys, 3 BMW's, a couple of Yamahas, a Suzuki, a couple of Triumphs, the Interceptor and the Ducati. I have always preferred twins, though.
