Since January, I've been participating in The Mission Run. www.itsallabouttheride.org/miscpage_001.aspI've bagged 10 missions to date and I'm headed out Friday morning on a run down to the Southland to pick up the other 11 to complete the run starting with Mission San Miguel and ending up in San Diego. After church on Sunday (in Coronado) I'll head back up north planning to arrive home in time to celebrate the 39th anniversary of my PH on the Fourth. I'll also be meeting one of my CO's from Vietnam for lunch in San Luis Obispo on Friday. Should be a hoot swapping lies and refreshing each others memories about stuff we've spent decades trying to forget. www.missionscalifornia.com/missions_map.html

Have a good time and keep an out for the stupid people. In California? That's asking quite a lot, isn't it?

Ask Tankcommander about the grey hairs in Pinellas County...Kim says I can't have a bike while we live there because of them...well, them and the idiots. Red lights are an option to a large number of them.

My only worry here is getting through LA on Saturday. Drivers are insane there 24/7/365
Better on Saturday than during the week, though. I've got to pass through it to get Missions San Fenando and San Gabriel.
No way around it.

Seven missions today.
Coupled with three yesterday, that makes twenty down and one to go; Mission San Diego de Alcala which I will catch tomorrow.
400 miles today. Not all that far but it was 112 degrees from Simi Valley to San Fernando. By the time I got to San Gabriel it was down to 100 and it felt cool.
More tomorrow.

Should be a hoot swapping lies and refreshing each others memories about stuff we've spent decades trying to forget. www.missionscalifornia.com/missions_map.htmlI'm flying to Lexington Kentucky on Friday, for a get together with about 10 of my old pals from C-1/32 Armor. Really looking forward to it, haven't seen them for 30 years! Jesus, 30 years, sometimes it seems it was yesterday! Ask Tankcommander about the grey hairs in Pinellas County...Kim says I can't have a bike while we live there because of them...well, them and the idiots. Red lights are an option to a large number of them. Yea, it's definitely a target rich environment here, unfortunately, on a bike, you're the target! There were 3 or 4 motorcycle fatalities in Pinellas County last week. Kim's right Larry, forget the bike, get a boat! Or maybe you can snatch an up-armored Humvee! ;D

Great Visit with my old CO.
It ended up being a 3.5 hour lunch. Put me a little behind schedule but worth every minute.
Now it's off to my old church in Coronado and a great Mexican lunch before heading back up the coast.
I may or may not have internet tonight but I'll be motoring up Hwy 1 through Big Sur tomorrow and home tomorrow night.
Y'all play niced now, heah?.

I need to find some around here...
As of late though, I'm taking time when I can and riding alone to visit Civil War sites.
