Nothing like good ol Fascism from the left. I swear to God this whole "tolerate others" shit has gone way too far. I'm all for tolerating all different types of people, but not at the expense of my rights as an American. If I want to call someone a fag, it's my right. If I want to use the word African-American, it's my right. The Libertarian Party, incidentally, is also against all forms of "hate crimes" and censorship.

If one more person tries to tell me that Mark Twain was a racist for using the "n-word" I'm gonna fucking kill them. Huck Finn is even BANNED in some schools because parents complain about how its racist. So let's not teach one of the greatest writings in American literature because it has a "bad word" in it. You've got to be kidding me. Don't tell me that the N-word is bad either, I hear that word all to commonly among the black youth. They've taken a word that was used by bigots and glorified it for their own use. Than they want to act all offended if a white person uses the word.

What do they want to be called? African-Americans? How many have spent a single day in Africa. Do you asked to be called a Irish-American Mateo? I sure as hell have never asked to be called a Polish-American, yet these people seek act offended by a simple skin color discription.

I've never seen Asains call each other the G or C- word, nor have I seen any Mexicans use the W or B- word. I suppose that would make the blacks.

Some day maybe this country stop giving hand outs to underachievers and will come to grips with a simple discription such as Black. Probably not in my lifetime though.

I grew up around a large black community. Many of the blacks I new were no different than you or I. But too many others bitched and moaned every chance they got. Here's my attitude: I could give two shits about the "plight" of the black community. I never did anything to hurt a black person. My ancestors never owned slaves. Shit, they weren't even here form Ireland until the early 20th century. In short, I don't owe a damn thing to the black community. I grew up working class and busted my ass for everything I have.

Exactly Owen. Our families probably came over around the same time - mine was in the early 1910s. Way past the days of slavery but right at the height of anti-Italian and anti-Irish sentiment in America. The Irish were probably the most discriminated against group in America at the time but you don't see me whining about it.

Just to clarify.

Let's not talk about the abuse of the Irish and Chinese during the construction of the railrods in America. And let's not talk about how the Irish were portrayed as monkeys in cartoons long before the image was attached to the black community. Let's not talk about how black Africans sold THEIR OWN PEOPLE to European slavers.

James, I've also been working since I was a young teen. When I was eighteen, I was going to college and working part time in a mailroom at an accounting firm in Philly. I was the only white guy who worked there, and damn near all of the blacks in the mailroom at some point pulled the race card. There was this one guy who would bitch about "whites" all day, but the second I complained to his face about him being a fucking asshole, he claimed I was biased cause he was black. There was one coworker who really made the effort to understand where I come from, and we got along great. But they all thought I got preferential treatment from the managers since we were both "white boys". You know what I say to that? They can go ahead and keep playing this fuckin "poor me" shit. Walk around any shithole neighborhood in North Philly. It ain't the white man trashing their streets.

Reminds me of the LA riots following the Rodney King verdict. The stores that the blacks trashed were mostly owned by minorities - especially blacks. I guess they didn't really care though, so long as they got to break shit.

A bunch of punk ass thugs looking for a reason to kill and destroy. Rodney king was a piece of shit, and I still have a hearty laugh when I see the cops whooping his ass. Piece of shit. That also reminds me of when Hurricane Andrew hit Florida and blacks started looting the destroyed houses. I remember seeing videos of people having to sit on the remains of their homes with shotguns and rifles.

It looks like you and James rounded this up pretty good, but I'll chime in anyway.

A few years back I was living in San Diego. In October I was working a night shift when I spoke to my boss about taking "Nevada day" off (yes, there is such a thing.) I was joking, but my boss said that would be fine, but just one catch, I'd have to train this new black girl to cover my shift for that one night.

At first it didn't seem all that bad to me. I hadn't really met this girl except when changing over shifts, but she seemed alright. Anyway, for some reason when she comes in to start the first day of training she is completly hostile to any and everything I say to her. Either she was complaining that I wasn't making sense, or that I "don't now what it's like to be a 27 year old single black female." My response was usually something like "I don't care. My job is to train you and we're going to train."

The whole fuckin week was like that, get to work argue with this dumb bitch, force her to work through her grumbles of this and that, and go home. At the end of the week she started talking to a few minorities at the workplace. One of them, (a Mexican) told me about it later. She went to them and asked what they thought I was prejudice. Anybody who could have even raised a question about me each said that I was a fair minded person, no racists, no double standards.

The girl ended up fucking away my day off and saying I did very little to train her. Lucky for me there were enough witnesses to her actions to get her ass thrown out in a heartbeat.

There are times that I've been put in charge of getting tasks done at the workplace, and commonly you have the productive and the leaches. A lot of time these people believe if you just ask the umcomfortable questions and raise a fuss that they won't be picked for regular jobs. Well, not me, I could give a fuck how hard your night was, how you mommy and daddy treated you, that's not my problem.
