Well Oakland had a great month in June going 19-8. They've started to pick themselves up and are now just two games under .500 when about a half month ago they were 10 games down. They've faced pretty mediocre opponets though, the Mariners twice and the Giants and they'll now have to deal with the best team in the bigs. The White Sox have a record of 53-24 (best in the majors). They posted a 18-7 record in June and this will be a matchup of the two hottest teams in baseball right now. The A's play the White Sox 6 times in the next 9 games so hopefuly if they can take the series away from them that will show they may have what it takes to catch up to the LA Angles who are 9 games ahead of the A's in the AL west. mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20050630&content_id=1109926&vkey=news_oak&fext=.jsp&c_id=oak

Of course, baseball season is pretty much over for me. The Yankees aren't going anywhere this year and the team has finally imploded. I knew that this would happen when they started to reject pitchers in favor of homerun hitters. O well, perhaps Yankee fans will learn from The Boss' mistakes.

Still holding out hope for Oakland, eh? Always . It is still tough to see them catching the Angles. Even though they've been playing steeler as of late, the Angles have more than kept up the pace with them so they are just barely scratching towards the Angles now. Well the Yanks did get the big unit in the offseason, and they still have Kevin Brown and Mike Mussina. With that rotation it does make one wonder what the heck is going on with that team. I wouldn't say the season is over for the Yanks though. They are only 5 games back of the Red Sox so if they can pick themselves up off of this "slump" they could easily make a push and capture the division.
