What an insane division. As of this moment, the Padres and Diamondbacks are tied for the lead in the NL West. They are both 3 games UNDER .500! Both teams would be alone in last and 10 games back in the NL East. The SF Giants are fourteen games under .500 and are only 5.5 games back. Will every team in the East finish above .500 and every western team finish under?

I wondered if the Giants could entice Bonds back to the lineup in a attempt to retake the devision. I have no doubt that they're doing just this, but Bonds won't come back until he feels like it.
Other than that, uggg..... what a horrible devision. Can you believe one of these messes of a ballclub is going to the playoffs? The Padres are the only decent looking club and that's if their players can come back from injury ok.
Here's a case where MLB should consider sending either the Cubs, Nats, or Marlins instead of the Pads. The playoffs would be much better.

With the way things are going, maybe we'll see a world champion with a record under .500? Short series are often hard to predict...

Did you know the last Division winners to win the World Series was the Arizona Diamondbacks in '01? Since then we've seen the Angles, Marlins, and Red Sox win the Series as wild cards. Heck, consider if the Houston Astros would've won game 7 of the NLCS against the Cards last year and we would've seen a all wild-card World Series.
