Well, It's been some time since Oakland was in the dark days of May. In the last 45 games the A's have played they've won 37 of them and in the last month came from 81/2 back of the Angels to tie them for the lead in the division as well as the wild card.
It is now with both teams in a heated race for the division that they will meet for a three game series in Oakland. Whoever wins will get temporary control of the division, but will also have bragging rights over the other team should they possibly meet in the playoffs.
Oakland still faces a tough schedule in September even if they overtake the Angles and should the A's falter they most likely will make it as a wild card.

You've got to tip your cap to those A's. What they have done recently is nothing short of amazing. I only feel bad for one person......Eric Byrnes.

You could say the same for Chad Bradford, but as GM Billy Beane said "You have to give up something good to get a good thing in return" or somehting like that.
Looks like the A's are getting beat badly in the first game, hopefully they can bounce back with Zito on the mound tomorrow.

victory baby, oh sweet friggin victory. The A's won today 5-4 by getting a run in the ninth of a strange error. In any case for the second strait day the A's fell behind the Angles and came back against the vaunted Angles bullpen.
It been a long journey from 15 games under 500 on May 30th, but the A's have climed out of the celer and have overtaken the Angles for sole possesion of first in the AL west and it's a great day to be a A's fan.

Whoa....I leave for a month and when I come back the A's are tied for first place? What the hell? The AL is gonna have an interesting September. The only division that seems to be wrapped up is the AL Central because the ChiSox are on a tear this whole year. It's funny because the AL Central is usually the worst division and generally the Twins take the division with a pretty crappy record. Now the AL Central has a real team and they are destroying the division.

The A's faltered a little right after they took first and droped 3 1/2 back of the Angles, but the A's resilency knows no limits this year and once again they are up 1/2 game on the Angels. Once again though, the A's and the Angles will meet this time in Anaheim for a 3 game set. The A's won the last time they were down there so I'm not too worried. Both central divisions are pretty locked up. In fact the Cardnals passed up the White Sox for best record in the league not too long ago. The only hope of the other teams in those divisions right now is the wild card and the NL race should be real good. Their is about 5 or 6 teams all within 2 games of each other fightin for it.
